Privacy Policy — Finite Social

Effective date: 16 March 2026

Finite Social (“Finite Social,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Finite Social app (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, when it is shared, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

If you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication information needed to sign you in. Authentication is provided through Supabase.

Subscription information

We store your subscription status so we can determine whether you have access to Pro features.

Bookmarks and preferences

Bookmarks, theme selection, and feed preferences may be stored on your device. If you use Pro features that sync bookmarks, those bookmarks are also stored in our database so they can be available across devices.

Usage information

We maintain limited usage information needed to operate the App’s free and paid feature limits. Daily usage counts, such as articles viewed or coding cards viewed, may be stored locally on your device. We do not sell this information.

AI feature inputs

When you use features such as Explain or Ask AI, we send the content needed to generate a response to our AI service provider. This may include article titles, summaries, and your question or prompt. We do not intentionally attach your name or direct personal profile information to these requests unless necessary to provide the feature.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • create and manage your account;

  • provide the App’s core features;

  • verify and manage Pro access;

  • sync eligible saved content across devices;

  • respond to your requests in AI-powered features;

  • maintain, secure, and improve the App.

3. Information We Share

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only as needed to operate the App with service providers that process data on our behalf, such as:

  • Supabase for authentication and database services;

  • OpenAI for AI-powered features;

  • RevenueCat for subscription status management;

  • Apple App Store and Google Play for billing and payments.

Payment card details are processed by the relevant app store and are not stored by us.

4. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

We do not intentionally collect:

  • your precise location;

  • your contacts;

  • your phone number unless you provide it to us;

  • your browsing history outside the App;

  • advertising IDs for the purpose of selling your data.

The App is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

5. Data Storage and Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect personal information, including using established service providers for authentication, storage, and secure data transmission. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as needed to provide the App, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security and fraud-prevention measures.

Locally stored information remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App, subject to your device settings.

7. Account and Data Deletion

If you create an account, you may request deletion of your account and associated data through:

  • the in-app deletion option, if available; or

  • our web deletion request page: [insert deletion-request URL].

You may also contact us at the email below for help with deletion requests.

When we delete your account upon request, we will delete or de-identify the data associated with that account unless we are required or permitted to retain certain information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or regulatory reasons.

8. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services that have their own privacy practices, including Supabase, OpenAI, RevenueCat, Apple App Store, and Google Play. Their handling of data is governed by their own policies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.

10. Contact Us
